World Population Day

A seminar and an elocution competition were organized for the observation of “World Population Day “on 11th July 2014 at 11am in the college auditorium. The event commenced with a talk on “Population growth and its effect on the economy of our nation” by Smt. Sebati Dei, Reader in Economics. Dr. Amiya Rath, Reader in History addressed the students presenting a brief description on the role of the younger generation in creating awareness on the rising problems of the population growth.

The elocution competition was conducted by Miss Leena Gantayat, Jr. Lecturer in Zoology. The panel of Judges was chaired by Smt. Anupama Das, Smt. Sebati Dei, Dr. Sarojini Das, Smt. Anita Misra and Sri Subhrakant Pani.

The topic for elocution in English was “Population Explosion is creating problems in the economic growth of India”

The winners of this event were:

First Manisha Mishra +2 IInd yr Science
Second Manisha Bhardwaj +2 IInd yr Science
Third Amrita Mishra +2 IInd yr Science
The topic for elocution in Odia was “Janasankhya brudhi bharata ra artha-naitik pragati re badha srusti karu achi”
The winners of this event were:
First Sunita Sahoo +3 IInd yr Arts
Second Monalisha Priyadarshini +2 IInd yr Science
Third Durgeshwari Roul +2 IInd yr Science

The vote of thanks was presented by Miss Leena Gantayat. The competition was organized by Smt. Razia Sultana, Reader in History and Dr. Bineeta Acharya, Reader in Psychology. The event was attended by all the staff members and students of the college.
